Greendale, Wisconsin is one of only three “Greenbelt” communities in the United States.  This planned community was built by the FDR Administration in 1936 as part of his ‘New Deal’ initiatives. In October 2012 Greendale was named a National Historic Landmark by the U.S. Department of the Interior. Greendale hosts many events and celebrations throughout the year. Places to see in Greendale include Trimborn Farm, Whitnall Park Boerner Botanical Gardens, and Historic Downtown Greendale.
